The idea

A teaching studio, without the overhead.

A junior at Samford studying violin performance has the chops to teach — but no room, no piano, and no way to find students. A homeschool family three streets over wants lessons but can't afford $80 an hour. The Square is the room in the middle.

  • College music majors rent a soundproofed room by the hour — cheap.
  • They set their own rates, keep 100% of their lesson fee, and build a roster.
  • Families book affordable lessons with a vetted, hungry young teacher.
  • Students wait (and caffeinate) at the coffee bar between sessions.

Apply to teach

Current or recent music majors apply, pass a quick background check, and get keycard access. Tell us your instrument, your rate, and the hours you want.

Book your room

Reserve a soundproofed room online — by the hour, the block, or a standing weekly slot. Members unlock the lowest rate. Grand piano & amps on request.

Teach & get paid

You collect your own lesson fees and keep every dollar. We just keep the lights on, the rooms quiet, and the calendar full. Recitals on us.

Most lesson rooms sit empty from 9 to 3. We fill them with a weekly daytime music co-op for homeschool kids — group musicianship plus private lessons, taught by our student teachers, all year long.
